HAPPY BIRTHDAY Gammah Becky!!!

It's was my Mom's Birthday on the 25th. She turned 40, again. I have to just take a moment and Blog about her. She is my HERO, my Best Friend, my favorite person in the whole wide world. I LOVE her SO much and don't know what I would do without her or where I would be. I often wonder why I was SO lucky/blessed to be able to be her daughter and not someone elses. She has SO many good qualities I admire about her. If I were to type them all up it would take SO much time and I might even have to do 2 Blog posts. However, a few of them include: her unselfishness, her thoughtfulness, she is very charitable, she is very talented, she never quits or gives up with anything she has done in her life, she is a prominant business woman, the LOVES her kids and grandkids unconditionally, she can laugh at herself, she loves the Savior and lives her life as an example of his, she has great faith and the list goes on. Mom you are the GREATEST! Thanks for all that you do for Carlee, Carson and I. We love you SO much!!! Happy Birthday!!!

Shop at SEARS, please...

There are many reasons that I LOVE shopping at Sears (ie: they have almost everything you need, Extreme Home Makeover, Craftsman, etc). However, I got this email today that makes me want to do all of my Christmas shopping at Sears. I especially feel grateful for our Troops laying their lives on the line for our Freedom this time of year when we all gather as families and they are without theirs. The email reads:
Sears - Christmas shopping this year. I know I needed this reminder, since Sears isn't always my first choice. It's amazing when you think of how long the war has lasted and Sears hasn't withdrawn from their commitment. Could we each buy at least one thing at Sears this year? How does Sears treat its employees who are called up for military duty? By law, they are required to hold their jobs open and available, but nothing more. Usually, people take a big pay cut and lose benefits as a result of being called up for active duty. Sears is voluntarily paying the difference in salaries and maintaining all benefits, including medical insurance and bonus programs, for ALL called up reservist employees for up to two years. I submit that Sears is an exemplary corporate citizen and should be recognized for its contribution. I suggest we all shop at Sears at least once, and be sure to find a manager to tell them why we are there so the company gets the positive reinforcement & feedback it well deserves. Please pass this on. Let's not any of us forget our troops, today or ever!! Please say a prayer for all of our troops tonight. I decided to check this before I sent it forward. So I sent the following e-mail to the Sears Customer Service Department: I received this e-mail and I would like to know if it is true. If it is, the Internet may have just become one very good source of advertisement for your company. I know I would go out of my way to buy products from Sears instead of another store for a like item, even if it's cheaper at that store. This is their answer to my e-mail: Dear Customer: Thank you for contacting Sears. The information is factual. We appreciate your positive feedback. Sears regards service to our country as one of greatest sacrifices our young men and women can make. We are happy to do our part to lessen the burden they bear at this time. Bill Thorn, Sears Customer Care webcenter@sears.com 1-800-349-4358. Please pass this on to all your friends. Sears needs to be recognized for this outstanding contribution and we need to show them as Americans, we do appreciate what they are doing for our military!!! It's verified! SHREK ice cream-NEVER again!

These photos DO NOT do justice to what she looked like and the mess she made. I think I will wait a few more YEARS before I buy her "SHEK ICE CEAM" again!

Going to church...

I LOVE this outfit I got for Carlee on CLEARANCE... I had to show it off. I made her pose for me before we went to church. I can't believe how fast she is growing up and how much more fun she gets everyday. She does have a lot of energy and she does wear me out, but I could NOT imagine my life without her. I love her!

Disney on Ice with FIRE

Last night we took Carlee to see Disney on Ice. She wanted to wear everything that she had that was 'Princess.' I had to narrow down her selection to only 1 tiara and 1 bracelet and matching dress up shoes, etc. She looked so cute. She is definatly our little, spoiled, princess. It was SO fun to watch her get excited as the characters came out onto the ice. I CANNOT wait until we go to Disneyland now (only a few LONG weeks left and we will be heading there). There is so much MAGIC that happens when Disney is involved. I LOVE IT! I feel like a kid all over again...

Now for the FIRE part. . .
Our seats were not the best in the house. Although we did upgrade to the VIP seats we were on the very last seat on the side about 15 rows up so anything they did on the background we could not see. HOWEVER, at the very end of the show they do fireworks. Well the firworks caught a flag on fire and WE came to the rescue. The show was ending that this fire was getting larger and larger. I thought for sure the Energy Solutions building was going to go up in flames. We yelled to the sound guy who was down below up and her radio'd the crew to put it out. I, however, was taking photos of the whole thing to sell to newspapers and the 10:00 news. They got it out though before it took the whole set with it. TOO FUNNY!

Family Photos-

We went a few weekends ago and got family photos at the Union Station in Ogden. It was all for the sake of Christmas cards. We had Justin and Jamie Hamblin of Hamblin Photography www.hamblinphoto.com take them for us. They are SO reasonable and did such a great job not only with the photos, but entertaining Carlee. I would HIGHLY recommend them...Thanks Hamblins! BTW-This is all that you get to see of them. My favorite(s) will be on your Christmas card (I know you can't wait).

TAG TEAM back again...

I've been tagged, twice actually. I am going to combine the two. I hope that is not breaking tagging rules. I have never done this before, but since the power has been out this afternoon and I have been bored, I cleaned and took some photos so I can play. So here it is... ENJOY!

Where do I work: I work for the State of Utah, Department of Workforce Services as an Eligibility Specialist. However, here is a photo of where I work (AT HOME at my desk in my spare bedroom because I telecommute).

My least favorite place in my house: That would be the laundry room. I HATE doing laundry and it seems to NEVER end. . .

My most favorite place in my house: This was a toss up between my tub (where I can just relax) and my bed (where I take naps once in a blue moon) so here is a photo of both of them.

5 things on my "To Do" list: I wish I only had 5 things on my 'To Do' list. However, here are 5:
1. Send Kathy package of stuff (that was suppose to be mailed last week, sorry Kathy).
2. Finish Mom's b-day gift (that I can't put on here because she might read this. However, I need the help of my siblings and they are not cooperating. Dang them!)
3. Get sprinklers blown out (this is really a job for Carson, but I am sure I will end up doing it).
4. Make Christmas cards for card exchange.
5. Deliver rest of Night In Excellence invitations.

Last thing I crossed off my "To Do" list: Ok this is kind of funny because I also updated my "To Do" list today while the power was out and Carson and Carlee were sleeping. However, sometimes I write things on my list just to cross them out. I am half way completed with listing my Dads stuff on ebay so that is the last thing I crossed of. I will finish listing the items after I finish this TAG TIME.

File 4, Picture 4 on my computer:
Carson on the Logan Temple with his Motley Crew from work. Can you believe they let these guys up on the temple to do work? They must be inspired...

Favorite thing to do to kill time? This would be FACEBOOK for sure. I LOVE it... It is so fun to get to talk to people that you have not talked to or seen in YEARS. If you don't have an account you need to get one. However, it is addicting.

The place in the house I spend the most time: That would be the kitchen. Either I am eating too much, making Carlee something to eat, or using the island in the kitchen to make something (ie: homemade cards or playdough creations depending on the day).

What was I doing 10 years ago? Approximately 10 years ago today I was getting my mission call to serve in the Manchester New Hampshire Mission and moving home from Provo.

Snacks I enjoy: Anything chocolate, salty or fattening. Sad huh!

Places I have lived: Clearfield, Syracuse, Provo, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, Willard.

Five things I would do if I were a Billionaire: 1. Pay off my house. 2. Build a cabin in Island Park. 3. Quit my job and travel the world. 4. Give money to everyone I love. 5. Invest money and donate to charities (does that count as 2?).

A list of 8 TV shows I love to watch: I honestly don't watch that much TV so this might not be quite 8. 1. Oprah 2. Extreme Home Makeover 3. Americas Funniest Videos (Carlee LOVES this show) 3. Deal or No Deal 4. Prison Break 5. The Office 6. Sesame Street (again for Carlee) 7. Extreme Home Makeover 8. Dirty Jobs (whew...I did it)

8 favorite places to eat: Now this is more like it. I can name 8 easily... Sad! 1. Tepanyaki 2. Red Lobster 3. Olive Garden 4. Macaroni Grill 5. Red Iguana 6. Los Hermanos (more for the memories than the food) 7. PF Changs 8. Market Street Grill

8 things that happened yesterday: 1. Did laundry 2. Put away Halloween costumes 3. Got ready for Lagoon 4. Called Dad and wished him Happy Birthday! 5. Blogged 6. Met Dad to give him his b-day gift 7. Went to Lagoon 8. Came home and went to bed early.

Ok that is all that I am doing. This blog post is WAY longer than I wanted it to be. SORRY! Now for the fun part. I TAG: Aimee (because I know that you have time on your hands just hangin' out in Utah), Erin (because you suck at blogging and need to take your password off your blog), Rebecca (because you are slacking on the blogging lately due to being so busy with your new business), Tara (because I seriously LOVE that you are the blogging queen), Brooke Flint (because you are new to blogging and this will make you a pro posting ALL of this stuff), Kamie (because I know that you will have the cutest photos out of all of us with little frames and sayings on all of them), Robyn (just because I want to see what you put) and WHOEVER else wants to spend wasteful time doing it... Can't wait to see what you put.

LAGOON! It's what fun is...

The last day that Lagoon was opened so we had to hurry and fit it in (we had made a promise to Carlee and had 2 free tickets). It was SO fun! The weather was perfect and the lines were short. It was a good feel for what Disneyland, in December, will be like with Carlee too (waiting in ride lines). Carson went and did his own thing (rode a few of the big boy rides) and Carlee and I stayed in the little kid area. Enjoy the few photos we got before our batteries in the camera died-

Happy Birthday Dad!!!

Today is my Dad's birthday. I wanted to take a quick moment to post some of my favorite things about my Dad and tell him just how much I love him. . .
Some of my Dads favorite things are: Diet Coke, Haystacks from Mrs Cavanaughs, Mixed Nuts from Walgreens, Apple Pie, Shrimp Salad, Wingers Wings, Lava Hot Springs, Golfing, Fishing, Massages, Vacationing, Surfing the Internet, coin collecting, hunting, eBaying and the list goes on. However, if you have ever been anywhere with my Dad you know he can make a friend for life with ANYONE, ANYWHERE, ANYTIME. I remember being younger and hating stopping to get gas, going out to eat, being on a trip, etc with my Dad. WHY? Because we would all be in the car waiting for him to finish talking to some person he had never met before and was now going golfing and/or fishing (or both) with next week. However, now I LOVE that about my Dad. People can see right away what a great person he is and want to be around him. He is the most knowledgeable person, the most unselfish person and the funniest person I know. I can think of hundreds of times he has helped me in just the last few months (millions in my lifetime). He is always the one I call on when I need advice. He will tell me where to buy my tires, where to deposit my stocks, he shows up at my house just to help me fix my sprinklers, mow my lawn, fertilize the new grass, take care of our dog, and this list also goes on. Not only that, but he is the BEST Grandpa in the world. Carlee knows that she will always get a big love from "PA" and sometimes even a treat or a dollar or both. The older my Dad gets the more he reminds me of his Dad, my Grandpa Adams (who was an awesome and fun Grandpa to me like my Dad is for Carlee). I love you so much Dad. I hope you are around for many, many more birthdays. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
