Colonial Williamsburg

Some of these were taken a couple of Sundays ago... We went for a family walk through Colonial Williamsburg hoping we weren't breaking the sabbath and ran into our bishop who was there looking for Glenn Beck. LOL! We didn't get to see all that we wanted to see and do so we went back a few nights later. This place really is AMAZING!

The cannons and a live marching band

Getting ready to fire...

The beautiful gardens at the Palace

We were the only ones on the tour so Carlee got some VIP treatment. She got to hold the silk ball dress...

Carlee (and Carson's) new timeout!

The Matthew Whaley School

This is Carlees school for next year. Isn't it gorgeous! It is right on Colonial Williamsburg property. If you have been to the area it is located next door to the Palace. She can't wait to start Kindergarten (and I am pretty excited she will be starting school, all day, the week I have the baby). You would have thought we planned that...

Meet the Griswalds!

Not sure if that is how they spell their last name or not, but you get the idea. I can't even imagine what the electricity bill must look like for these people in the months of Dec and Jan, YIKES!

Buckroe Beach

This fun little beach is actually in Hampton (where we just moved from). Some of these photos are from when we lived there and the weather was a little colder (we played on the fun playground instead of in the water/sand) and others are from our latest trip there when I got FRIED (note: when you are pregnant you burn MUCH easier, wear sunscreen!)

Virginia Beach

We rented a family bike and let Carson do all the hard work.

(Those things are a workout!)

We took a stop at the HUGE playground and let Carlee use up some energy.

We ran on the beach chasing birds.

And we watched the MANY surfers catch a wave or two.

The next weekend we decided to head south to Virginia Beach. It was probably one of my most enjoyable weekends since living here. I was SO ready for beach weather and just happened to be feeling pretty good that day despite the pregnancy.

I LOVE the beach. I LOVE living by the beach. I LOVE everything about the beach.

Williamsburg Visit

After coming home from Utah (2 wks later) we were excited to see Carson again and felt that he deserved a little trip so we went to Williamsburg. This was when we realized how much we loved the town and wanted to start looking at houses there. It wasn't much longer that we purchased our home we are in now and we still are loving the town.

Here are a few photos of our mini vacation to Williamsburg before we bought a house there:

The Yankee Candle Store

They have a whole toy dept with dolls and all...

They also have Christmas up year round.

A wax dipped hand that I don't know where to put now because it is so fragile.

Hot tubing and swimming, of course.

Dinner at Captain George's Seafood Buffet
(although this was Carlee's favorite part of the restaurant)

Ripley's Believe it or Not Museum
(that's a real human shrunk head that dummy is holding)

The Tallest Man in the World (next to the cutest girl in the world)!

I think he may be a distant relative. Seem the similarities?!?

Oh one more pool photo posing in her swimsuit from Aunt Colette
(that she has outgrown, but does not want to stop wearing)

Visiting Loved Ones Graves

Carlee has been a little obsessed with death. She wants to know all about it (what they do with your body when you die, being buried, etc). I told her we could go and buy flowers for our grandparents graves when we got home to Utah. She did not let me forget. We went and visited Grandma and Grandpa Adams graves and Grandma Chandlers grave and our good friend Diane Higleys grave all at the Clearfield Cemetery. (Although it was funny because Carlee kept thinking it was our friend DeAnne who was dead and she isn't).

Valentines Decorations from Tai Pan

My Mom asked me to help her put up her Valentines decorations while we were in Utah. (She left up her Christmas decor for Carlee to see because Carlee asked her to). Well we got it put up but she needed a few more items so she sent me to one of my favorite stores with money and a list. It was SO fun. I LOVE shopping with other peoples money. LOL!

Here are some photos of the end results:

Dress Ups and Aunt Colette!

Two of Carlee's FAVORITE things:

Aunt Colette

Dress Ups

Carlee LOVES trying on my wedding dress (per previous posts), but she was in heaven when Colette helped her try on Lindseys wedding dress because it actually fit (reminder: I did NOT get the skinny genes in the family). I love these photos because Carlee looks SO happy!

Pink Eye!

A fun night at the Circus was not the only thing Carlee got while she was in Utah...

(These photos do not do justice. The poor little girl could not hardly open her eye.)

Utah in January (CIRCUS)...

Because that is how far behind I am ... Life has been to busy to blog, but I took a nap today and now I am up for a late night because of it SO it is time to catch up a little. Since we are going to be going to Utah in a week again I thought I better catch up some posts from last time I was home. One of the highlights: THE CIRCUS! It was at the Farmington Fair Grounds and it was much better than I had expected. Carlee is still talking about it.

Carlee riding the elephant before any of the other kids got there (so she got to ride it ALL BY HERSELF)

Madeline and Aliyah taking their turn with a few others...

Lindseys boys and Liberty and Paige taking their turns with again a few others...

The tigers!

And of course the face painting...

It was a FUN night. Thanks Grandma Becky for buying us tickets and taking us.

April Meal Calendar

I have so much blogging to do, but I promised I would post my meal calendar for April so here it is. I haven't stuck to the days, but it is nice to have ideas for the whole month. Let me know if you need a recipe and I will find it for you. They are all over. I need to compile and put them together, but haven't found time to do it yet. Enjoy...
