Digital Scrapbooking!

Remember my post not too long ago about my friend Tara who taught me so much about digital scrapbooking? Well she has kindly offered to come to Willard and teach a class at my house for 4 weeks to anyone that is interested in learning.

She teaches from Photoshop Elements. The class will be one night a week (I think on a Wed or Thurs) and will go for 4 weeks. You will be taught (hands-on if you have a laptop) get a disk with some pages, kits, etc to help you get started and a binder full of everything she is going to teach you (to refer back to). It will only cost $50.00 for all 4 weeks.

Space is limited so let me know ASAP if you want to do it. My house only holds so many people. Lol!

Her ears are pierced!

Carson and I have always disagreed on when Carlee would get her ears pierced. I have told her I would take her whenever she wanted it done, but she had to want it and also to be able to take care of them. Carson on the other hand wanted her to wait until she was 35.

Well Carlee's aunts talked her into having her ears pierced. She went with TONS of incentives and prizes in her hands. She did really well and only cried for a minute. She has done good at not touching them and reminding me to clean them.

She shows them off to EVERYONE!

Before the piercing. So scared she can't even give me a full smile.

After the piercing was done and the tears were gone.

BTW even Carson seems to like them and didn't have too much negative to say about me allowing her to be talked into having them done.

Disneys The Princess and the Frog!

It is FINALLY here. Carlee has been waiting, what seems like, years for the new princess movie to come out. We went the same day she had her tests done. It was an amazing movie and I think we will go back and see it again, but this time when she is not as tired and dealing with a sedation hangover.

It just goes to show that just like little black girls can pretend to be white princesses so can little white girls pretend to be black princesses. She walks around now saying that she is Tiana, and to kiss her so she can be a frog. Kids are SO funny and so NOT racist. They only see one color. One of the many reasons we are told to "be as a little child."

As for me... I want some good southern cooking now that I have seen it. :)

Kidney Reflux Testing...

Carlee has been getting Urinary Tract Infections (poor girl inherits all the crap Carson and I had as kids) so they referred her to the hospital to get some tests done. Because she is so young they chose to sedate her. These are photos before that all occurred. She was spoiled rotten and did quite well.

Patiently waiting to be wheeled off...

The 2nd toy received that day.
She LOVED that you could pull its arms and legs.

Introducing the 2 toys to each other.

Maybe not appropriate, but I could not pass up the opportunity to post her cute little bum.
She was peeking at all of the nurses and doctors and patients.
Little did she know they were peeking at her too.

The outcome is that she does have reflux in her right side. She was referred to Primary Children’s Medical Center (we are blessed to have such great hospitals and doctors so close to us). There we were told that she is at a stage 2 out of 5 and that it can be fixed with a small surgery or antibiotics (for a year). I chose the antibiotics for a year, but haven't filled the prescription yet. It just doesn't seem right although being sedated 3 times at the age of 3 1/2 doesn't seem so right either.

What are your thoughts?

Start of a new tradition?

Carson has been out of town so Carlee and I have been bonding and playing. Yesterday we went grocery shopping and they had Gingerbread houses with all the candy on sale for only $8.99 at Smiths. We bought one and put it together. It was SO much fun I think we will do it every year. Today Carlee has been going to check it out every few minutes. What a great tradition!

Putting the candy on "just right!"

SMILE!

The finished project!

The unfinished project. (Carlee wanted to take a photo of the Christmas tree). I haven't put the ornaments on yet. That might be tonight's project. Stay tuned...
