Patiently waiting to be wheeled off...
The 2nd toy received that day.
She LOVED that you could pull its arms and legs.
Introducing the 2 toys to each other.
Maybe not appropriate, but I could not pass up the opportunity to post her cute little bum.
She was peeking at all of the nurses and doctors and patients.
Little did she know they were peeking at her too.
The outcome is that she does have reflux in her right side. She was referred to Primary Children’s Medical Center (we are blessed to have such great hospitals and doctors so close to us). There we were told that she is at a stage 2 out of 5 and that it can be fixed with a small surgery or antibiotics (for a year). I chose the antibiotics for a year, but haven't filled the prescription yet. It just doesn't seem right although being sedated 3 times at the age of 3 1/2 doesn't seem so right either.
What are your thoughts?

Oh I'm so sorry! I hate seeing little patients (but I do love patient's little bums!!!... and she makes a cute little patient for sure!)
I know your concern about having her on antibiotics for a year. Here is my thought on the subject though (only because you asked). There are lots of different types of antibiotics, so although she will become immune to the type of antibiotic they will give her, she will be able to use other antibiotics if/when an infection comes up.
I am well-versed on the subject not because I am a medical professional, but because I've spoken to medical professionals many times about this subject. Chloe is on an antibiotic for severe GI issues. We tried about ten other medications that didn't work until I finally gave in and tried the antibiotic. It works great, and she has had one small infection while she was on it, but was able to take another antibiotic and it cleared up the infection just fine.
I'm sorry you have to make this decision at all, but in most cases I do trust medical professionals. If I'm ever hesitant, though, I always get a 2nd opinion. Divine intervention with fasting, prayers and priesthood blessings will help guide you too. But you know that.
Sorry for the book report! lol!
I'm excited about the class and I am seriously in love with Carlee's new ear bling! Love it :)
My baby has reflux and is a 3 out of 5 on both sides. He's been on the antibiotic for 34 months now and will have his six month check in February. Surgery was and still is the very last option for us. They told us that this surgery isn't always successful anyway.
Our baby is on a very small dose because he's still so young (they saw fluid in his kidneys when I was still pregnant, so we started the antibiotic at 2 months), but it still gives him a lot of diarrhea, so we give him acidophillus to help his normal flora (it's that active ingredient found in yogurt, in case you didn't know that). So I would pump her with that and/or yogurt. You can find it at any health food store. Those tests stink! Good Luck.
That's 4 months, not 34 months.
So sorry to hear she has been a little under the weather! But I do love that bum. I miss you now that cards has been canceled. I do love the earings, they are B-E-A-utiful.
Poor Carlee!! That stinks!! I love her bum picture...so cute! My Dr. thought Jett had reflux in his kidney's when I was pregnant with him. We spent lots of time at the urologist his first year, but never had to do surgery.
I am sure whatever you decide will be best for you guys. I hope she starts feeling better. She is sooo beautiful!! Hope you had a wonderful Christmas. Miss you!
OK, I suck as a friend, I had no ideas you were going through all of that. I hope it all works out. Love and miss you
